Stanley Karl Bartsh, 87, of Plainview and formerly St. Charles, MN, died October 31, 2023, at Green Prairie Rehabilitation center in Plainview.
Stanley Karl Bartsh was born September 14, 1936, to Chester & Avis (Sherwood) Bartsh at their home in Elba, MN. He attended Fischer Hill School and then went to St. Charles High School where he was active in football and basketball. He was baptized at the former Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Elba, MN. He served in the Navy from 1955-1959. He worked at IBM in Rochester for a few years and then for Winona County Highway Department for over 34 years. In 1976 he married Carol Schneider, and she passed in 1983. Many nights after work he would help at the family farm, especially during haying and harvest season. He enjoyed tractors and was a member of the Plainview Tractor Club. He took his Super H to many parades and tractor rides. He did antique tractor pulling for many years, traveling as far as Murray, Kentucky where he won 1st place. Stanley also loved fishing and enjoyed many trips to Canada, North Dakota and northern Minnesota.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Lyle & Shirley Bartsh, Nephews Mark (Missy) Bartsh, Randy (Jo Stevenson) Bartsh, Rodney (Denise) Bartsh, Kevin (Sally) Bartsh and several great nephews and nieces.
He is preceded in death by his parents and wife Carol.
Funeral services will Tuesday, November 7th, 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview with Pastor Phil Augustine officiating. The Burial will follow at Valley Home Cemetery in Elba, MN. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Plainview American Legion.
