Robert Glenn Wehrs

Robert Glenn Wehrs, 95, passed away with family at his bedside at Edenbrook Rochester on Friday, December 2, 2022.

Robert was born in Viola Township on May 7, 1927 to Henry and Nora (Schacht) Wehrs Jr. He attended country school. On September 11, 1946 Robert married Arlene Polikowsky. They farmed west of Elgin until 1997 when they sold the farm and moved to Rochester.

Robert was a longtime member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin. Besides farming, he had also worked at UBC and Beck Implement in Elgin and Lakeside Foods in Plainview.

He is survived by his children; Jerilyn Ramsey of Claremore, OK., Janet (Charles) Zarling of Rochester, Cynthia (Robert) Burmeister of Tulsa, OK., and Charlene Smith of Palmer, TX.; grandchildren, Christina (Jeremy) Bump, Timothy (Nesha) Ramsey, Sam (Cindy) Ramsey, Michael (Ariana) Zarling, Joshua Smith and Angela Wehrs; great-grandchildren, Grace, Joshua and Hope Bump, Andrew Coulson, Aubrey, Chloe, and Ella Ramsey.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife Arlene (April 1, 2013), 2 sons Michael and Roger, 1 daughter Judy, 1 brother Vern and 2 sisters Muriel Kuhlmann and Nilva Welke.

Funeral service is Thursday, December 8, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Elgin with Pastor Dale Kohrs officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
