Michelle (Shelley) Meyers

Michelle (Shelley) Meyers, 68, of Eyota, passed away Friday, September 8, 2023, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.

Michelle Marie Meyers was born October 3, 1954, in Dubuque, Iowa to John and Grace (Konzen) Ernster. She graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1973 and then attended Winona State University and graduated in 1976. Shelley was employed at IBM in Rochester for 23 years. She then worked at Peace United Church of Christ in Rochester for 10 years. She also baby sat a grandson until he started school.

On August 14, 1976, she married Dave Meyers in Rochester where they resided until moving in 1977 to their current residence in Eyota. Shelley collected vintage dolls, sold Mary Kay cosmetics, loved going on day trips and vintage cars and enjoyed going to concerts and following the Minnesota Vikings, Twins and the old North Stars.

She is survived by her husband Dave, 2 sons Joel (Jayleen) Meyers of Eyota and Nate (Heather) Meyers of Rochester; 5 grandchildren, Jordon, Brady, Luke, Ellie and Noah; 1 sister, Phyllis (Kerry) Ruzek Kenne of St. Charles, 2 brothers, Les (Vicky) Ernster of Rochester and Jeff (Vicki) Ernster of Spooner, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral mass is Monday, September 18, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Eyota with Father Tom Loomis officiating. The burial will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday, September 17, 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Eyota and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
