Maxine Hall

Maxine Hall Obituary

at her side. She was born April 15, 1925 to Dollie (Boldt) and Louis Spring in Elgin, Mn.  She
September 1945. In August 1942 she met John F. Hall.  Three months later he left to serve in
the Air Force in WWII for three years, returning in August of 1945.  They married on
September 10, 1945 at St Joachim’s Catholic Church in Plainview, MN.  They farmed the
“home farm”  on West Indian Creek near rural Theilman for 10 years, then moved  to a farm
near Beaver 6 miles east of Plainview and continued dairy farming there until retiring on Sept
25, 1982 when they moved to their present home in Plainview  where Maxine worked at the
Maxine loved raising chickens, ducks, and geese, taking care of the farm animals and the
farm life.  She  enjoyed gardening in her large vegetable garden and canning many fruits and
vegetables.     She sewed, making quilts for all of her children, grandchildren, great
grandchildren,  and others, mending, and embroidering.  She had a passion for playing 500
and other card games, baking (especially pies and her family’s  favorite, Special K Bars), Hee
Haw, and Wheel of Fortune.
She belonged to the Cheerio Club, Senior Citizens, and St Joachim’s Ladies Unit where she
helped serve at funeral luncheons and church events.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, John, sons, Ron Hall, Plainview  (special friend
Sandy); Mark (Joan) Hall, Kellogg;  Scott (Nancy) Hall, Redmond, OR; daughters Diane
(Gene) McNallan, Kellogg; Marie (Kim) Kroening, St Charles;  Kris (Al) Rustad, Trempeauleau,
WI; one sister, Marlys (Richard) Bartz, Elgin, MN; Sister-in-laws, Evy Spring, Elgin; Bernice
Hall, Kellogg, Brother-in-law, Julian (Janice) Hall, Aransas Pass, TX;  16 grandchildren, 29
great grandchildren, and forty  nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Laurel (Sonny) Spring,  2 sisters,
Delores Wood and Faith Hall,  and one great grandson, Arien Hall.
The funeral mass will be Friday, May 17, 11 am at St. Joachim's Catholic Church in Plainview
with Father William Becker officiating. Burial will be at St. Joachim's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation is  4-8 pm Thursday at the Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview and one hour
prior to the service at the church on Friday.
