Marilyn Remmers Obituary

Marilyn Mae Remmers, 81, of Plainview died January 26, 2024, at the Green Prairie Rehabilitation Center in Plainview, MN.

Marilyn was born on May 17, 1942, in Winona, MN to Ralph & Fern (Markwardt) Mussell.  She was a graduate of Plainview High School. Marilyn married Paul Remmers, they resided in Rockford, IL until Paul’s passing in the early 1990’s. Marilyn then moved to Red Wing, MN where she lived with her sister Karen for many years. Marilyn found great enjoyment working at Treasure Island Casino until her retirement. She recently returned to Plainview where she resided at the Plainview Senior High Rise.

Marilyn enjoyed playing bingo and cards with the ladies at the high rise. She loved spending time with family and friends for holidays and backyard get togethers. She also enjoyed coloring and crafts and frequently gifted wooden crosses and momentos to others that she had colored. Marilyn had a feisty spirit that will be missed by many.

Marilyn is survived by nephews, Chad Mussell of Mazeppa, Cory Mussell of Zumbrota, Jamie (Mary) Mussell of Plainview; great-nephews, Tyler Mulholland and Jonathan Mulholland of Elgin, Cody (Amber) Mulholland of Rochester; brother, Duane Mussell of Plainview; and sister-in- law, Kathy Mussell of Plainview.

She was preceded in death by her husband Paul, parents Ralph and Fern, sister Karen, brother Milon, and nephews Mark and Jesse.

The visitation will be Wednesday, January 31st, 5-7 pm at Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview. A 4 pm graveside service will be Thursday at Greenwood Cemetery in Plainview with Pastor Phil Augustine officiating.

Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview is assisting with the arrangements.
