Lois Kreofsky Obituary

Days after completing a much-anticipated adventure with her children in the San Juan islands of Washington state, Mrs. Kreofsky, 90, was called home by our Lord.

Lois Kreofsky of Eagan, and formerly of the Elgin/Plainview and Kellogg area passed away peacefully Friday, September 3, 2021.

Lois Irene Bany was born April 19, 1931 in Plainview to Milton and Elna (Koepsell) Bany. She graduated from Elgin High School. On June 24, 1950 she married her high school sweetheart, Bill Kreofsky at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin.

For many years Lois supported the family construction business. She was active in community affairs and was an EMT for 15 years with the Plainview ambulance service. Lois volunteered for the Cystic Fibrosis cause and was an active member in her church community.  She loved to travel, try new things and spend time at the cabin with family.  While hunting wasn’t a mainstay, she was proud to have bagged both a bear and a moose while hunting with Bill.

Lois is survived by her children, Steve (Stephanie) Kreofsky of Kellogg; Cheryl Kreofsky-Fitzgerald (Mike) of Edina; Brent Kreofsky (JoAnne) of Eagan; and daughter-in-law, Leslie Kreofsky of Edina; nine grandchildren, Alyssa, Brad, Kelly, Max, Drew, Peter, Haley, Nick, and Nathaniel; and six great-grandchildren, Jack, Noah, Mackenzie, Ada, Liliana and Kaylan; three sisters, Gladys Olson, LaDon (Loren) Wilshusen, Dorothy (Logan) Holst and brother Dale Bany, and sister-in-law Joan Bany.. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Kreofsky, son Dean Kreofsky, brother Merle, and sister Corrine.

The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 14, at Faith Lutheran Church in Wabasha with Pastor David Knox officiating. Friends and family may visit from 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 14, at the church until the time of service. Burial will be in Elgin Cemetery.

The family is grateful for the wonderful care she received and particularly the palliative care of Dr. Michael Finch of the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis.
