Lee Gulsvig Obituary

discharged and returned to Havana, North Dakota. Lee married Gene Hentgen December 27, 1948. He
moved to Oakdale, MN in 1973 where Gene passed away in 1986. Lee then married Elizabeth Peterson
February 7, 1987. They moved to Arizona upon retirement. He belonged to Masonic Lodge #13 in
Ellendale, VFW Post 3545 in Ellendale. He loved spending time with his family, woodworking, gardening,
and traveling.
He is survived by three sons, Lonny of Chisago City, MN, Terry of Silver City, NM, Brian (Shelly) of
Loretto, MN; two daughters, Cara Fox of Rochester, MN, Dawn McMahon of Howard Lake, MN; seven
grandchildren, Catie Fox, Tara Jones, Shanni McMahon, Eric McMahon, Jessa, Max, and Ian Gulsvig; two
great grandchildren, Dylan and Zachary Jones; two brothers, Elwood (Jean)Gulsvig of Oakes, ND, Melvin
(Candy) Gulsvig of Park Rapids, MN, one sister, Marilyn Carlson of Tacoma, WA. He was preceded in
death by his parents Melvin and Lydia Gulsvig, his wives, Gene Hentgen and Elizabeth Peterson, two
brothers, Murdean Gulsvig, Vern Gulsvig and a sister Ardis Sieh.
A Memorial Service will be held May 11, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Faith United Methodist Church in Eyota with
the Rev. Mark Woodward officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Maplewood, MN at a later date.
Friends may call one hour before the service at the church. Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview is
handling the services.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the Alzheimer’s Association.
