LeEtta Neumann Obituary

LeEtta Dorothy Neumann, 91, of Plainview died Monday, September 13, 2021 at St Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.

She was born in Plainview on July 8, 1930 to Arthur and Dorothy (Krusmark) Schulz. LeEtta grew up on the family farm east of Plainview.  LeEtta attended country school and Plainview High school graduating in 1948.

On October 8, 1949 LeEtta married Elmer Neumann at Immanuel Lutheran Church. They made their home in rural Plainview on the Neumann family century farm until moving into town in 1988. She worked in the office for many years for Dr. Lyle Quiram and then after she retired she worked for a few years in the PEM school lunchroom as the “ketchup grandma”.   Elmer and LeEtta celebrated 64 years together before Elmer’s death in 2013. LeEtta remained in her home until her passing and loved nothing more than visits from family especially grand and great grandchildren.  She always had a hug and a homemade cookie in the cookie jar ready and waiting. She was active in her community and loved going to great grandchildren’s many ballgames, fairs, concerts and dance recitals.

LeEtta was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was very involved with the quilters and the Lutheran Church Woman’s Group, formerly known as the Ladies Aid. LeEtta has made many quilts over the years for the church. She was active with bible study and alter groups. She would always volunteer a baked good or helping hand when needed.
