Obituary
Joyce M. Enright (81) passed away on September 3, 2023 surrounded by family at Samaritan Bethany in Rochester, MN after a courageous 17-year victory over lung cancer.
She was born August 28, 1942 to George & Delta Sanneman in Owatonna, MN, where she graduated high school. She married Bob Grass in 1959 and became widowed in 1963 with two young children. She remarried to George A. Enright of Austin, MN in 1965, and after numerous residential moves throughout their married years, resided in Eyota, MN.
Joyce was a homemaker until becoming a personal aid in 1981 for the late State Senator, Nancy Brataas; and thereafter, was employed by Telex/Phonak Communications where she retired after 20 years. She took pleasure in a variety of interests over the years, which included playing piano, knitting, reading, bowling, & vegetable/flower gardening; and she also enjoyed a life-long passion for cooking/baking, classical music, bird watching, & traveling around the United States, by semi or motor home, with her husband.
Joyce is survived by her five children: Kimberly Grems (Al Schroht) of Owatonna, MN; Peter Grass of Owatonna, MN; Richard (Darla) Enright of Kasson, MN; Christine (Craig) Austin of Eyota, Gerald Enright of St. Charles, MN; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; & George’s daughter Cindy (Bob) Schlink of Winona, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, & her late husband George.
A private family service will be on September 12, 2023, at South Zumbro Lutheran Church, Kasson, MN with Pastor Pete Wyttenbach officiating. She will be laid to rest in Forest Hills Cemetery in Owatonna, MN.
The family requests memorials to the National Eagle Center in Wabasha, MN & wishes to extend a special thank you to her excellent Mayo Clinic Oncology team of many years; and most recently, Mayo Clinic Hospice & Samaritan Bethany for their care.
