Jeanette Ann Ross, 83 of Plainview, died Sunday, November 7, 2021 at her daughter’s home in rural Lake City. Jeanette was born on September 1, 1938 in Eyota to Daniel and Nora (Krenzke) Staloch. She graduated from Eyota High School. On February 20, 1960 Jeanette married Harold Ross at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Eyota. They resided on the Ross family farm SE of Plainview. Jeanette was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Elba. Past member of the Elba Snowbirds, a 4H leader, State Fire Warden for Whitewater Township and a longtime member of the Plainview American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed baking cookies, flower gardening, word search puzzles and hanging wallpaper.
Jeanette is survived by her children; Shirley (Mike) Manthei of Lake City, Thomas (Lisa) Ross of Altura, Theresa Hehl of Mazeppa and Bernard Ross of Rose Creek; Grandchildren, Matthew Manthei, Jason (Marissa) Manthei, Nicole (Shannan) Talbott, Bradley (Kimberly) Ross, Austin (Bryana) Ross, Joseph Hehl, Laura Hehl, Megan Hehl and Brittany (Chris) Ward; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Roland Staloch of Douglas and Daniel Staloch of Stewartville; 2 sisters, Rita Alvarez of Oceanside, CA and Mary Nisbit of Rushford. She was presided in death by her parents, husband and siblings, Glen, Lou, Rodger, Gene and Roselyn and son-in-law Chris Hehl.
Funeral mass is Saturday, November 13th, 11:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Elba with Father Tim Biren officiating. Burial will follow at St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery. Visitation is Friday, 5-7 p.m. at Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
