Obituary
Ione Mae Odermann passed away peacefully on November 28, 2022 with her family at her bedside.
Ione was born in Westhope, ND on April 7, 1927 to Bernadette & Nels Christenson.
Ione married Matthew Odermann in 1947. She & Matthew had five children: Jacqueline (Roy) & Gerald (Rosie), Matthew Jr. (Maria), Randall (Miriam) and Mary Jane (David).
In 1960 Ione & Matthew moved to Plainview, MN where Matthew was a teacher in the Plainview School System. Ione & Matthew moved to Tucson, AZ after Matthew retired in 1987.
Ione was a loving wife, mother & grandmother. She worked as a nurse’s aide at St. Mary’s Hospital, loved to bake, play pinochle, bingo & years ago worked at the family run popcorn stand in Plainview.
Ione loved her five grandchildren (Scott, Brittany, Kristi Lynn, Ashley & Kirsten) and 6 great grandchildren (Stella, Meadow, Josiah, Elaina, Graham & Cameron).
Ione is preceded in death by her husband Matthew & son Matthew Jr.
Ione will be buried with her husband in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis,
Memorial donations may be made to The Fountains at La Cholla in Tucson, AZ; Northwest Medical Center in Tucson, AZ; or Casa De La Luz in Tucson, AZ.
