Obituary
Gale Edgar Martin, 96, of Rochester, MN, died Friday, July 1, 2022 at his home.
Gale was born April 21, 1926 in Quincy Township to Fay and Gladys (Melendy) Martin. He graduated from Plainview High School. On February 21, 1948 he married Eloise Kohrt in Rochester, MN. They lived East of Plainview for 2 years and then moved to Rochester.
Gale was employed at Vogel Outdoor Advertising for 47 years, retiring in 1995. He was a 42 year member of the Olmsted County mechanical history roundtable. Gale enjoyed rebuilding antique tractors, country western music and T.V. shows, reading and collecting ink pens.
His wife Eloise died January 8, 2010.
He is survived by his children; Charlotte (Greg) Anderson of Ellendale, MN, David (Susan) Martin, Roger Martin, Steve (Tina) Martin all of Rochester, Loren (Jennifer) Martin of Faribault, MN and Allan (Jodi) Martin of Fairmont, MN; 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, wife, 1 son Terry and 2 sisters Victoria and Marilyn.
Graveside service will be Thursday, July 7, 11:00 a.m. at the Beaver Cemetery, Whitewater Township, with Pastor Abigail Ozanne officiating. Visitation is 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. Thursday at Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview.
