Dolores Lee (Daugherty) Radtke, 88, of Plainview, passed away on Monday, September 18th, 2023, at Green Prairie Rehabilitation Center in Plainview. She was born March 15, 1935, in Caldwell Idaho to Henry and Alice Daugherty. Dolores did not graduate from High School, Dolores was a nanny for many years for a family and then met the Love of her Life Herb. Dolores married Herbert L Radtke on October 15, 1952, in Pine Island. They were married 67 years. Dolores farmed with her husband Herb and his family outside of Elgin. She was also employed at Lakeside Foods in Plainview. Herb and Dolores purchased a home in City of Elgin in 1969. Dolores then was hired in Rochester with AMPI from 1973 to 1994 and retired from AMPI. After retirement Dolores traveled with Herb for a few years. Then on to being Grandma- Dolores took care of her Grandchildren for many years until after they were school aged. Dolores was well known for her infectious Laugh (it always was a belly laugh) and her sense of humor. Dolores loved flowers, baking, canning and having 3 gardens. Dolores also enjoyed entering exhibits in the County fairs and her efforts resulted in many ribbons. Dolores enjoyed spending time with her family and her Church family. Dolores loved family gatherings with her own children and getting together with her Nieces and Nephews. Dolores enjoyed playing Bingo, painting, trivia, Polish Poker, weekly manicures and church services. Dolores was great-ful for her roommate they both enjoyed watching the same channels. Dolores loved singing with her friends at GPRC, especially the song She’ll be Coming Round The Mountain When She Comes. Dolores was a sweet and kind person, thinking of others before herself. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Church in Elgin. Dolores leaves behind many of her friends that supported her all these years and she truly loved you all!

Dolores is survived by her children, son Leonard (Kay) Radtke of Spring Valley;son Earl Radtke Kellogg Mn and daughter Debra (Randy) Bigelow of Plainview; and sister Evon Olson; nine grandchildren Kelly Burma, Courtney (Jason) Schuldt, Adam Burma, William (Peggy) Maricle, Charlie (Stacey) Maricle, Charles (Chuck) Radtke, Christina (Andy) Hodge, Kenneth (Ken) Bigelow and Andrew Bigelow; 14 great-grandchildren, Donna Aldrich, Sara Schuldt, Summer, Liam, Cecelia and Georgia Maricle, Zoey Burma, Madison, Levi and Mayson Maricle, Lilly, Ryan, Faith and Autumn Hodge. Dolores is preceded in death by her Husband Herbert L Radtke and her parents Henry Daugherty and Alice Stromback., daughter Julie Burma, daughter Donna Radtke, daughter-in-law Brenda Radtke and granddaughter Kelley Bigelow. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Frances Manthei and Wanda Daugherty.

 A funeral service celebrating Dolores life will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Elgin with Pastor Joshua Moldenhauer officiating on Monday, October 2, 2023, 11:00 a.m. The burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. The visitation is Sunday, October 1, 2-4 p.m. at Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
