Marvin Clinton Lyke

Marvin C. Lyke, age 87, of Eyota, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023 at Season’s Hospice in Rochester.

Marvin Clinton Lyke was born on November 15, 1935 in Eyota the son of Clinton and Evelyn (nee Koch) Lyke. He attended Eyota schools and graduated in 1951. Even before he finished school he worked for Patterson Quarry in St. Charles. Following graduation, Marvin was a dump truck driver for Patterson until he retired. In his free time, Marvin enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and trips in his motorhome. He loved roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. He had a special love for his dogs Lucky and Petunia.

Marvin is survived by his brother and sister-in-law: Don (Linda) Lyke of Grants Pass, OR, his niece Brenda (Tom) Snyder and nephews: Roger (Mila) Schellhammer, Steven (Diane) Schellhammer and Mark (Jane) Schellhammer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister: Ardis Schellhammer, and two brothers. He was also preceded in death by two special companions: Kathy Watts and Patricia Harnack.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Schad and Zabel Funeral Home in Eyota. Pastor Laurie Boche will officiate.

Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Eyota. Pallbearers will be nephews: Roger, Mark and Steve Schellhammer, Tom Snyder and great-nephew: Cody Snyder and great-great nephew: Ky Aarhus

Visitation will be held on Monday from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
