Betty A. Ackman, 80, of Oronoco, died Saturday, January 5, 2013 at St. Isidore Health Center of
Greenwood Prairie in Plainview where she had resided for 2 years.
Betty was born October 19, 1932 in Rock Dell Township, Olmsted County, to Burt and Amanda
(Aaby) Olson.
She married Harlin H. Ackman on December 15, 1950 at the Oronoco Lutheran Parsonage. They
made their home in Oronoco.
Betty enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing Bingo, dancing, music, and making
people laugh.
She is survived by 4 sons; Carl Ackman of Rochester, Larry (Kristi) Ackman of Winona, Gerald
(Leslie) Ackman of Plainview, James R. Ackman of Oronoco, and 1 daughter; Betty (Kevin)
Haack of Elgin. 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and Half sister, Darlene Anderson
of Lake City also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Halin, 1 son, Caryl and
grandson, Marcus.
The funeral service is Wednesday, 11 am, January 9, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin
with Rev. Terrill Bramstedt officiating. Burial is at the Oronoco Cemetery. Friends may call on
Tuesday, 5-7 pm at the Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview and 1 hour prior to the service
at the church on Wednesday.
